8 Women-8 Murders: Jennings, LA
Women are being hunted down and murdered in the tiny town of Jennings, Louisiana yet how many of you know about it? Is it the work of a serial killer? No one knows for sure but it’s looking more and more that way. Eight women from 17-30, have been killed between 2005 and 2009 with the most recent murder last month. Jennings is a town with a population of just about 12,000. It covers only 10 square miles.
Loretta Lewis was the first victim found dead in May 2005 just 3 days after she disappeared. She was 28.
Ernestine Patterson was found a month later. She was 30.
Kristen Lopez disappeared in March 2007. Twelve days later, she was found dead. She was 21.
Two months later, 26 year-old Whitnei Dubois vanished. She was found shortly after.
Just over a year later in May 2008, Laconia Brown was found murdered. She was 23.
Crystal Zeno was last seen in August 2008. Two weeks later her body was found. She was 24.
At just 17, Brittney Gary’s body was found in November 2008.
Necole Guillory is the last known victim. She disappeared in August this year and was found 3 days later. She was 26.
It appears all the victims have some sort of ties together either through relatives or friends. That’s not too surprising considering the size of the town. What is surprising is the lack of any kind of media coverage—on the national level. The Jefferson Davis Sheriffs Office has created a website with information about the women. If you have any information, however insignificant you may think it is, contact them at (337) 824-6662.
