"Vacation" time is over; Time to get back at it
Two major updates underneath photos. One good news, the other, not.
Yeah so I've been gone a long time. The reasons why have been numerous but now is the time to return. Not that I'm important. I'm not. But the more I see about people in this country just vanishing off the face of the earth, the more I want to do something. Writing about them is one thing. I'd like to do more. Join Missing Persons groups that actually do something would be a pretty good start. If anyone knows of good ones, drop me a note here. In the meantime and going forward, I do want to rededicate myself in profiling people who have disappeared. Maybe I can help or maybe it will trigger something in someone to help. Whatever it takes. I'm tired of doing nothing. There are several great websites out there doing what they can to find people. Peace4Missing is a great one as is Help Find the Missing and NamUs.
The question for me (and you) is who do I start with? I did a quick search to see what the latest is in the sad world of missing people. I can't believe how many recent ones there are. These 3 are at least getting some media coverage. How many more aren't getting any? Those are the ones I'd like to help.
Christiana Fesmire-Maine
Christiana Melusine Fesmire, 22, has been missing since the morning of July 1, 2011. Christiana was last seen at a friend’s home, on Brown St. in Lewiston, ME. Her last known address was 36 Highland Ave. in Lewiston, ME, which had been cleared out prior to her going missing.
Christiana is approximately 5’5” tall, has a slim / athletic build, long dark hair, and blue eyes. She has a tattoo of a turntable on her right shoulder blade and a peacock feather on her right calf.
Christiana had been staying with friends on Brown St. and was waiting to be picked up by a family member to attend a family reunion in Rangeley, ME that she was excited to attend and had been looking forward to. Christiana told family she had borrowed a car from a friend and would arrive at the family reunion but never showed up. Christiana was no longer at the Brown St. residence when her friends returned home and was unreachable by phone. Her friends and family are extremely worried about Christiana, especially because she had been upset after the death of a very close friend for several months. Nathan Carman-Connecticut
UPDATE: A Middletown teenager with Asperger’s syndrome who had been missing since Thursday has been found safe in Virginia. Middletown police confirmed Nathan Carman, 17, was found at about 8:30 p.m. Monday in Sussex County, about 30 miles from the North Carolina border. He was in good health and unharmed.
NEW HAVEN -- The father of a 17-year-old Middletown youth said today he’s not sure why his son left home but he did note the boy is very upset over the death of his horse about seven months ago.
Clark Carman, who met with the media and volunteers today at New Haven City Hall as a volunteers’ search began for Nathan Carman, said his son is still grieving over the loss of the horse.
"He’s working through that," Carman said. "I think that might be part of the problem."
But Carman said his son has never before left home for an extended period and had always returned by nightfall.
The last sighting of the youth was via a surveillance camera at the corner of Church and Chapel streets Thursday afternoon as he was getting off a bus.
Carman said his family has hired a private investigator to assist New Haven and Middletown police in the search.
Sharon Hartstein, a friend of the Carman family who is coordinating the search today at City Hall, said at mid-afternoon, "We have had no leads, no sightings."
Carman has Asperger Syndrome, a high functioning form of autism. He is white, about 6-foot-4-inches tall and weighs about 150 pounds. He has short, light brown hair and no facial hair.
The youth is passive and not violent, according to his family. If somebody sees him, he should not be touched but should be addressed calmly by name.
Anybody with information is asked to call Middletown police at 860-347-2541.
Sean Buehrle--Pennsylvania
UPDATE: We were just notified by the state police, unfortunatley Sean Buehrle is no longer with us and there was no foul play involved. Further details will be forthcoming and please respect the privacy of the family at this time. We deeply thank everyone for their help, cooperation, prayers, and support. Sincerely, the family of Sean Buehrle.
Sean was last seen leaving work at Weis on Pottstown Ave in Pennsburg, Pa on Tuesday 8/9 around 6 am. We believe he had his backpack, which is red, black and grey. He is about 5"10 200lbs with brown hair and hazel eyes. He has a thick chin strap beard and has both ears pierced with barbells. We know he had his wallet and phone ( black LG Optimus ) but his phone has been off or dead since Tuesday. We have checked all of his phone records and there were no calls or texts from unknown people... same as with his emails... nothing unusual. We also checked his banking records and there has been NO activity to his acct since 8/5. He does not ever carry cash and all his checks are accounted for. It would b absolutely out of character for him to just take off... he is quiet and sticks to hanging with his family rather then going out with friends. Seeing that he has only lived in Pennsburg for maybe a year on and off with school... he has not made any friends other then people he may have worked with... but even then he has never been around them outside of work. He would have been going back to Drexel in Sept and was VERY excited for his senior year. Sean does not drive... he walks or relies on immediate family to take him anywhere. There are NO means of transportation via bus or train in this area.
We need as much help as possible just getting the information and his picture out there. Please help us spread his story and his pictures and re post any information related in our search!!! Thank you!!!
