Home Invasion Leads to Snappy Little Tune
Aug 9th
Ordinarily, a home invasion isn’t something to snicker at. Ordinarily. However, when Antoine Dodson, the brother of the victim was interviewed by a local TV station, he just may have punched the ticket for himself and his sister out of the projects. The interview was turned into a musical (ish) auto-tune video that has been seen by millions. Antoine now has his own websites, T-shirts and a song that can now be downloaded on iTunes.

Your Voice Can Help Put Puppy Killer Away
Jan 28th

Timilee Romolini is an actress and an advocate for pets. Her website, Timitalks.com is full of fantastic information about pet care and stories about pets who need to be rescued. She is also passionate about ensuring those who abuse pets are punished. Enter Glynn Johnson from Riverside, California. Johnson beat a puppy to death with a rock. He was found guilty and the sentencing takes place in March. The following is from Timi’s website. Go ahead and contact the DA in Riverside and make sure the puppy killer gets the max.

I am THRILLED to report that the loathsome and cowardly Glynn Johnson was found GUILTY in a Riverside County courthouse in Southern California yesterday (January 26, 2010). I participated in one of many pickets that were held by decent human beings and SoCal residents in effort to ensure that the DA prosecuted, and convicted this pathetic excuse of a “man”. Now we have to wait until March for his sentencing and, as concerned citizens, do what we can to encourage that he receive the maximum jail time. To assist, YOU can write letters to Deputy District Attorney Will Robinson at:
County of Riverside DA Offices
4075 Main Street
Riverside, CA 92501
ATTN: Deputy DA Will Robinson
(951) 955-5400.
If you wish to voice your opinion to the court in concern of the community, please ensure that your letters are received BEFORE March 3, 2010. Johnson’s sentencing is on March 8, 2010. Why write? First and foremost the danger that convicted felons, such as Johnson, can pose to society. History shows that these abusive criminals are not just a danger to helpless canine animals, but also to helpless human animals. Children, eldery, women – all common victims of individuals who were also found guilty of animal abuse. It’s time that the government rid our streets of potential and real dangers by punishing those found guilty to the maximum sentence allowed! Please remember that if you choose to take action and write a letter, make it productive by not using abusive language – despite your anger. It’s best to be articulate and rational so that the DA has viable support.
I had the pleasure of speaking with the victim’s family and other neighbors of felon Glynn Johnson. I, personally, heard first accounts of Johnson (allegedly) beating his daughter in the front yard of their home. I listened to numerous stories of felon Glynn Johnson “terrorizing” and “bullying” his neighbors (adults and children) through (alleged) verbal assaults, threats and unimaginable actions. I watched this morning on Good Day LA, local California Fox 11 news channel, as a fellow Fire Fighter expressed that felon Glynn Johnson was a disgrace in the eyes of his peers and (allegedly) created many problems in his department with his anger (RAGE) issues. I hesitated to mention that felon Glynn Johnson was a (retired) member of the fire department because, generally, those in that profession are considered noble and “heroes”. Felon Glynn Johnson is NO hero. Heroes save lives…not TAKE them and this convicted felon took the innocent life of a helpless 6 month old puppy by (according to eye-witness reports) beating the vulnerable life with a 12 pound rock that resulted in his death.

Even more pathetic? Felon Glynn Johnson laughably, and unsuccessfully, tried to argue that his abuse was “self-defense” because the little puppy bit his thumb. Bit his wittle thumb?! To this absurdity I would say, “man up!” but I find it evident that felon Glynn Johnson is NOT a “man”. As a woman who has endured many dog bites from fearful adult canines weighing, at times, over 100 lbs during rescue efforts I can’t imagine this fool trying to compose such a defense from an “injury” caused by a small PUPPY. And FYI, an eye-witness reported that the felon’s thumb injury was due to the coward (allegedly) reaching inside the helpless puppy’s mouth and intentionally breaking the dog’s jaw in rage! Once more, if you want to voice your opinion on felon Glynn Johnson’s March 8, 2010 sentencing – YOU can write letters to Deputy District Attorney Will Robinson at:
County of Riverside DA Offices
4075 Main Street
Riverside, CA 92501
ATTN: Deputy DA Will Robinson
IF YOU ARE AN OUT-OF-TOWNER, you can still be effective by stating how Riverside, CA would not be an “attractive business or tourist destination” with such criminals allowed to roam the streets freely without first serving time in prison for their crimes to, hopefully, assist in changing the dangerous behavior that threatens society and visitors. You might also include statistics that demonstrate the danger of the mental state of such felons to remind the judge of the real threats these arrogant criminals poise to society.
As always, thank you for caring!
Fort Hood Hero To Be Guest At State of the Union
Jan 25th

Hero police officer Kimberly Munley is on her way to Washington, D.C. this morning, and will be sitting next to First Lady Michelle Obama during Wednesday’s State of the Union address. Kimberly was shot in the knee November 5 when U.S. Army Major Nidal Hasan opened fire on unarmed troops at Fort Hood, Texas. He killed 13 and wounded 30. Kimberly is credited as one of the officers who took him out. It came with a price. She underwent knee replacement surgery. “It’s the most pain I’ve ever felt in my life,” she said describing the surgery.
On Saturday, she updated her Facebook status with a cryptic message. “It’s been another “pretty good” day. The pain isn’t so severe and I have been able to sleep. Taking an unexpectant trip early Monday morning. Will explain later…”
Sunday, the mystery continued. “Had another good day today. Getting ready for my trip. Going to DC…see if you can fill in the puzzle pieces ”
And this morning, “4am and up getting ready to leave for DC. TOO early!!! But excited ”
People speculated. Could it be the State of the Union? A medal? I’m not good at puzzles so I just came out and asked her.
“It is going to be the State of the Union. I will be sitting in the first lady’s box with her,” Kim said.
And there you have it. Good for you Kim. You deserve it.
Who Killed Renee?
Jan 24th
On August 5, 2006, 41 year old Renee Pagel lay in her bed at home recovering from lifesaving surgery. The remarkable thing about this was the life saved was not her own. One of her student’s father was in desperate need of a kidney and Renee was only too happy to help. Her own mother suffered from kidney disease and she didn’t want to see anyone else go through that pain. Her close friend, Chris Crandle remembers a woman who loved to laugh but lived in fear. “Renee was the mother of three young children, twins Sarah and Joel who were 7 at the time, and Hannah who was only 3,” Chris said. “Renee was a daughter and a sister; a nurse and a teacher; and a friend and inspiration to so many. In her 41 years, she gave more and accomplished more than most of us do in an entire lifetime. She cheerfully gave of herself at a local homeless clinic. She volunteered in migrant camps, and as a medical missionary in third world countries. She worked as a nurse in a burn unit and in a psychiatric hospital.”

While her recovery was going well, her life was not. She was in the midst of a divorce from Michael Pagel, a man she told Chris and others she feared. On that August 5 day, while still suffering from the effects of surgery, someone broke into her home and repeatedly stabbed her. Now 3 1/2 years later, no one has been charged with her murder but that doesn’t mean the case is over. The talk around the town centers on her estranged husband yet there’s no hard proof to indicate he had anything to do with this. He has since moved out of town to a private hunting compound, far away from anyone who cared about Renee–with the exception of her children. He has full custody and refuses to let them play with friends they had when their mother was alive.

Did Michael Pagel murder his wife? If not him, then who? For the next few weeks, we’ll take a closer look at Renee’s story. Hopefully someone with the information needed will come forward. It’s been too long and her family and her children need answers
Who’s Going to the Super Bowl?
Jan 24th
The title is actually an answer when you think about it. The Who will be performing the halftime show at Landshark Stadium in Miami (which is really sort of Fort Lauderdale). Who else is going?

Well we know Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts are going with a record of 2 wins and a loss in Super Bowl history (including their run as the Baltimore Colts).

Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints are going for their first Super Bowl appearance.

And I, yes me, will be making my first or what appears to be many appearances this year. Selected updates on that experience to come in early February.
PS: Don’t ask me for tickets!
Did She or Didn’t She? Kathy Griffin F-bombs CNN
Jan 1st
You get what you pay for and in this case, it appears Kathy Griffin will forfeit tonight’s CNN paycheck. An agreement she made with the network promised she’d return her fee if she got naughty. It didn’t take long. Watch and listen. Did she say the mother of all curses?
TSA Finds Ways to Make Flying Even More Painful
Dec 29th
I’m all for safety but every time a nut job pulls a stunt on an airplane the government goes into berserk mode dashing off rules that don’t do anything but make people think they are safer. Richard Reid who couldn’t even succeed in lighting his foot on fire is the reason why you have to take your shoes off at the airport. It wasn’t the shoes that were dangerous but the explosives he hid in them. And those went undetected. Isn’t that crazy? Richard Reid. You can attach a single name to the reason billions of people have had to expose their holey socks and toes that should never be seen in public.
In 2006, British investigators uncovered a plot to blow up planes heading to the United States using liquid explosives. Since then, you can’t carry on those much needed necessities like hair gel, toothpaste or a bottle of water UNLESS you buy it after the security check point. For a while you couldn’t carry a lighter but for some reason, that rule was revoked. Fire is good.
Now we have Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, or whatever his name is, trying to blow up a Detroit bound flight from Amsterdam. How’d he do it? Explosive material was sewn into his underwear. His crotch actually. But as terrorists go, Umar wasn’t quite up to the job and succeed in lighting what was left of his manhood on fire. Quick thinking passengers, unfazed by what had to be a horrific smell put the fire out and upgraded Umar to First Class.
Will underwear be banned? Will those bomb seeking mirrors they use on cars be used on the ladies? How about detecting the explosives…the same kind used by our shoe bomber buddy? It seems not much was learned since 2001.
But with new nuts comes new nutty rules. Here is the TSA directive (which to some airlines’ credit they are trying to fight). You’ve probably heard about the “no getting out of your seat for the last hour of the flight” rule but there’s so much more. Delta and some other airlines recently offered in-flight internet service. You could actually log on at 30,000 feet and surf the web, send emails, do whatever it is you do with the internet. Other airlines like Jet Blue offered live television. TSA says no more. Heck, even the little mappy thing that showed where you were, how much longer until you landed and the fact that it’s 60 below zero outside is being stopped.
3. Disable aircraft-integrated passenger communications systems and services (phone, internet access services, live television programming, global positioning systems) prior to boarding and during all phases of flight.
One thing I don’t have a problem with is the stoppage of the pilot jumping on the intercom and waking you up with, “If you look out the left side of the plane, you’ll see the Grand Canyon.” I’m usually on the other side. But it is a new rule.
4. While over U.S. airspace, flight crew may not make any announcement to passengers concerning flight path or position over cities or landmarks.
And if you are the type who likes to sleep on the plane or tend to get a bit chilly, the final hour might be a problem for you. Pillows and blankets cannot be used and can’t even be on your lap.
5. Passengers may not have any blankets, pillows, or personal belongings on the lap beginning 1 hour prior to arrival at destination.
The memo is below for you to enjoy. Or not. Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab has an unpronounceable name but suffice it to say, because of him, we are all being Farouk’d.
